Terms of Use
Effective date: 30 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Nathaniel Leong trading as Parker - Walking with Parker, an individual based in Singapore ("Parker", "we", "us"), for the Parker app. By using Parker you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live that cannot be excluded by contract.
1. Parker in brief
Parker is a walking companion. Your steps help an 8-bit character grow, earn cupcakes and dress up. You can use it without an account. Town (friends) and keeping purchased cupcakes across devices need you to sign in.
2. Who can use Parker
- Parker is for a general audience. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), please use Parker with a parent's or guardian's permission; they accept these terms for you.
- Some features depend on age: Town is for people aged 13 and over, and Parker shows no ads to anyone in this version.
- Don't use Parker if the law where you live forbids it.
3. Health and safety
- Parker is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. Goals and step counts are for fun and motivation. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant or have been inactive.
- Walk safely. Watch where you are going, not your phone, and respect traffic and private property.
- Step counts come from Apple Health and your devices and may be inaccurate. Rewards are based on what Apple Health reports.
4. Your account
- Sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your device and account secure; you are responsible for what happens through your account.
- Your Town name must follow the Town rules (section 8).
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What that deletes is explained in the Privacy Policy.
5. Your licence to use Parker
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Parker on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's Usage Rules, for your own non-commercial use. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer (except where the law allows), resell, or use bots or cheats, and don't fake step data to get rewards.
6. Cupcakes, items and purchases
6.1 What cupcakes are
- Cupcakes are an in-app currency with no cash value. They are a limited licence to unlock items in Parker, not money, not property and not a deposit.
- You can earn cupcakes (walking, daily visit, challenges, badges, level-ups, surprise finds) and buy them in fixed bundles. Bundles and their contents are shown with their real-money price before you buy. During the TestFlight beta, purchases may run through Apple's test (sandbox) environment or be unavailable.
- Cupcakes can't be transferred to another person or account, can't be exchanged for money, gift cards or anything outside Parker, and can't be sold.
- Cupcakes never expire while your account exists.
- Cupcakes only buy specific items you can see before you buy. Nothing you buy with money or cupcakes is random. Streaks, progress, badges and walk-earned ("Trail") items can't be bought.
- Items you unlock are yours to use in Parker for as long as Parker is available and your account exists; they stay if you stop buying. Earned cupcakes and purchased cupcakes go into one balance.
6.2 Buying
- Apple sells every purchase. Payment, pricing in your currency, taxes, receipts, Ask to Buy and Screen Time are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We never see your payment details.
- A purchase is complete when Apple confirms it and the cupcakes appear in your balance. If they don't appear, contact us at hello@walkingparker.app with your Apple receipt; we will fix it.
- Purchased cupcakes are saved to your Parker account and come back when you sign in on a new device. If you use Parker without signing in, we create a private guest account so they aren't lost; signing in later keeps them.
- The Starter Basket can be bought once per account.
- (EEA/UK) When you buy, you ask us to deliver the cupcakes immediately and you acknowledge that, once delivered, you lose your 14-day right to withdraw, as far as the law allows.
6.3 Refunds
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights (for example if something is faulty) are not affected.
- If Apple refunds a cupcake purchase, we remove the refunded cupcakes from your balance. If you've already spent some, we remove what's left, down to zero; items you already unlocked stay yours. If refunds look abusive (for example, repeated refunds after spending), we may review the account and, after contacting you, limit purchases.
- If you buy from the South Korea storefront, you may cancel a purchase of unused cupcakes within 7 days through Apple, as local law provides.
6.4 Spending limits
- Parents and guardians can use Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time to approve or block purchases. We plan to add an in-app monthly spending limit; it is not in this version.
6.5 Changes to items and prices
- We may add, change or retire items, bundles and prices in the future. We won't take away items you already unlocked, and we won't reduce the cupcakes already in your balance, except as described in section 6.3 or to correct an obvious error (for example a duplicate credit), which we'll tell you about.
- If we ever close Parker, we will give at least 60 days' notice in the app and stop selling cupcakes when we give notice. Where the law requires a refund of unused purchased cupcakes, we will provide it.
7. Ads
Parker has no ads in this version. If we add optional rewarded ads later, watching an ad will always be optional, and we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy and tell you in the app first.
8. Town rules
Town is for kind, friends-only walking. Please don't:
- use a Town name that is offensive, sexual, hateful, harassing, pretends to be someone else (or Parker), or contains links, handles or contact details;
- send friend requests or bells to harass or spam;
- use Town if you're under 13;
- try to access other people's accounts or data.
You can block or report anyone from their card. We may rename, suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. You can reply to hello@walkingparker.app if you think we got it wrong.
9. Our content and your content
- Parker, its characters, art, music and text belong to us or our licensors.
- Your Town name and the outfits you show stay yours; you give us a licence to host and show them to your friends so Town works. The licence ends when you delete them or your account.
- Feedback you send us may be used to improve Parker without payment to you.
10. Availability and changes
We're a small team. We try to keep Parker running and your progress safe but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update Parker and these terms; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. If you don't agree, you can stop using Parker and delete your account.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using Parker at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example the "no cash value" rule in section 6.1, and sections 9 and 12) survive.
12. Liability
- Parker is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for injuries while walking that aren't caused by our negligence. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Parker purchases in the 12 months before the claim or S$50, to the extent the law allows.
- Nothing limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or (in the UK and EU) your statutory rights for digital content, and (in Australia) the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. If the ACL applies and we fail a guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of this section.
13. Apple-specific terms
- These terms are between you and Parker only, not with Apple. Parker, not Apple, is responsible for Parker and its content.
- Your licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Parker. Contact us at hello@walkingparker.app.
- If Parker fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Parker.
- Parker, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to Parker, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims, including in connection with HealthKit.
- Parker, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any third-party claim that Parker infringes someone's intellectual property.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Contact for questions and complaints: Parker - Walking with Parker, hello@walkingparker.app.
- You must also comply with applicable third-party terms (for example your network provider's) when using Parker.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first at hello@walkingparker.app; most issues are fixed quickly.
